The scientific research and production is developed in the Research Group of Couple and Family (Grup de Recerca de Parella i Família, GRPF) is governed by the Code of Good Practice for Research, based on the Code of Assessment Technology (CAHTA) Catalan Health Service and the Municipal Institute of Medical Research (IMIM), being its main aims to promote the improvement of the quality of science and prevention of problems of integrity in research.

Research Protocol

Any research that is proposed by GRPF researchers must have a corresponding research protocol that must be approved by the coordinator of the group and have the approval of the Ethics and Research Committee of the institution.

The research protocol, as a written text of the proposed study and its corresponding sections, can not present any secret part and will will be followed faithfully. Any questions or additional complementary research in a project already submitted will be followed by an essay corresponding the (new) research protocol. All research protocols involving the use of computerized databases with people information must guarantee the confidentiality and must be subjected to current regulations on records databases.

Regardless of the (co-) funding, public or private, of a research project, the responsibility for the design and development of the research team corresponds to the research team, and lastly to the main researcher, who will be responsible of the resources used, the veracity of the data collected and, if necessary, of avoiding interference with the clinical treatment of the people involved in the research.

Publication of results

The publication and dissemination (presentation) of the research results is imperative, either being positive or negative than those predicted. There will not be scientific communication and dissemination of the research results to the media, before its publication,  except in exceptional cases in which the same editorial policies of journals considered it acceptable. Fragmented, duplicated or redundant publication will be avoided.

The authorship of scientific papers (oral or written),resulting of the research projects will be based on the ( significant ) contribution  in the process of research , regardless of hierarchical position, employment or profession , taking up the responsibility of all content. To be considered, the author of a publication must have contributed to the research design and interpretation of data and must have contributed to the preparation of papers and publications resulting. Other contributions of less importance will be reflected in the acknowledgments section.

Staff training

The researchers in training to participate in any of the projects will have a tutor on with the tasks associated with this feature and its priority tasks will always be related to their training.

The main goal of the GRPF is to study and do research about the internal and external aspects of the family group and to promote policies that will allow professionals to help families and their members to improve their personal and social development.

Dr. Carles Pérez-Testor is the main researcher of the group.

He is currently a Professor of the Facultat de Psicologia, Ciències de l'Educació i de l'Esport, Blanquerna (FPCEE Blanquerna) and the Director of the Institut de Salud Mental Fundació Vidal i Barraquer (FVB).
